Mindset for success: 3 ways to achieve your goals

When friends say “You’re so lucky” in relation to my career progression, I’m reluctant to agree.

I contribute my success not to luck. I was born into a working class family and have become self-made not through luck.

So how is it that I’m currently in Dubai, relaxing and enjoying the wonderful heat and luxurious hotels, restaurants and spas?

In one word: mindset. A positive mindset. One that is not limited to “I can’t achieve this” or “That’s way out of my reach and unrealistic.”

3 daily practices I use to ensure my mindset leads to success are:

Gratitude

I’m constantly grateful for all I have and all that I will be receiving.

It’s something we constantly read about but how do we practice? It just takes 5 minutes when you wake and 5 minutes before you sleep to do. And importantly, it sets the tone for the day when you focused on not what you are lacking (money, success, love) but what you are abundant in.

A sequence of events always follows from this practice to attract even more to you, which makes you more grateful!

Try it and see how this changes your mindset and then your life.

Positive friends/social circle

I’m a firm believer in “Your tribe affects your vibe.”

What I mean here is that those you associate with on a regular basis affect your frame of mind.

Look at who you are surrounded by, who you chose to socialise with, who you follow on social media and eliminate any negative people you see.

I enjoy the company of other successful women or women who strive for success. We support each other on our journeys and give each other positive words of encouragement.

These connections have been formed through networking, personal introductions and of course linked in!

Turn failures into lessons

I embrace “failures” as they always teach me invaluable lessons about myself. Not learning from failures and repeating failures will not lead to success of course.

Picking yourself up and changing the practices that lead to that failure will always develop your character and give you the strength to continue.

All entrepreneurs, including myself, have failed. I started luxury pop/ups 18 months ago and my first event didn’t bring the level of footfall I desired.

I promoted the event on social media and to my network so why didn’t I attract the number of visitors I wanted?

The venue was not luxury enough. The brands I selected were not all luxury. So I learnt. And changed everything. And it has worked. My last event at Nolita Social in Knightsbridge was a huge success, as will be my Luxury Christmas Shopping Day in two weeks.

I hope my insights have been useful for you to read and I look forward to seeing you at my networking and social events soon.

3 benefits of pop-up shops

Over the past year, my local high street in Fulham has seen many shop closures, often from small brands who could not afford the rents.

Sometimes, these empty shops become pop-up shops, temporary boutiques for a week, a month or even longer.

There are many benefits to brands showcasing their collections at pop-up shops:

    Affordable

Sharing the cost of a space not only saves a brand money but when you bring similar brands together, you create a boutique and offer customers choice.

  • 2. Brand awareness
  • You’ve left your career in Finance and set up a fashion brand and want to put this brand in front of potential customers. A pop-up allows you to do exactly this. Samples of your collection can be produced and displayed, allowing customers to give you invaluable feedback (and encouragement if they express a love for your brand)
    • 3. Collaborations
  • Bringing a few brands connects you to other entrepreneurs and can encourage brands who compliment each other to collaborate. Showcasing complimentary products together provides the customer with a bigger vision which may benefit both brands.
  • Luxury Designers Club have been organising luxury pop-ups in Mayfair and Knightsbridge, creating mini boutiques with fashion, jewellery and accessories designers.
  • Our next pop-up is on Thursday 5 December at the chic Bulgari Hotel (Nolita Social) and we hope you’ll attend a meet some incredible designers.
  • London Fashion Week 2019

The up-and-coming fashion, jewellery and accessories designers showcasing at this year’s London Fashion Week pop-up are incredible.

We bring these luxury designers together in a Central London venue, Nolita Social, the chic lounge and bar within the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge.

The date to save is Tuesday 17 September. Doors open at 11am. Join us for a coffee or tea, browse the designers collection and more importantly, meet the designers.

To add to this unique shopping experience, we have a special Ladies Lunch organised at Sette restaurant on the ground floor where you can socialise with ladies over a fabulous three course lunch.

Admission to the pop-up is free.

Ladies who lunch: cocktails and conversations

After experiencing a number of awkward networking events where business cards were shoved into your hands seconds after introductions, I felt things needed to change.

There must be networking events in London which connected professionals in a more informal, relaxed manner. So I started searching. And searching.

Until it dawned on me: why don’t I organise my own event which also incorporated my love of dining.

Luxe Lunches was formed in 2018 and almost a year later we celebrate our anniversary in September with a luxury ladies lunch at Sette, the newly opened New York restaurant now housed at the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge.

Cocktails, conversations and fabulous cuisine! Save the date: Tuesday 17 September at 13.00
